Consumer to Advertiser: I want a divorce!
It is rare that you’ll ever hear Joe call anything from Microsoft brilliant, but this brilliant video from Microsoft is funny and true! It imagines a breakup between An advertiser, portrayed as a rich, smug, know-it-all guy and a consumer represented by an attractive and honest women who feels she is no longer heard or understood. It really gets to the core of the issue that businesses don’t want to use new technology to have a dialog with their customers, they just want to market to them and lower sales costs.

Of course the most unreal part about the ad, is it is wildly obvious that M$ pays absolutely no attention to it. It is pretty obvious where that particular marketing team got the idea for that particular ad, I still wonder, whether foot in mouth really would qualify as a successful ad campaign.
