A new site offers some obvious functionality that Amazon was missing, a way to search for only things with free shipping. I am an Amazon Prime member ($79 / year for unlimited free 2 day shipping on orders of any size). This is great because I am not tempted to by $25 worth of stuff for the Free Super Saver shipping, and because I am impatient and I don’t like to wait for the slower shipping. But mainly I love Amazon because they have GREAT customer service. Things come when they are supposed to come, as promised and while rarely necessary returns are easy.

What does drive me a little nuts is that there is no way to limit my search to Amazon for just the items with free shipping. Well now there is!
The New Site Free Shipping On… gives you any easy way to only find items eligible of free shipping (either free super saver or amazon prime). You can search right from the site, but the best part is an open search extension, that let’s you search right from the browser. It should work pretty much the same way on Internet Explorer or Firefox, on a PC or Mac, but here are some instructions (with screen shots from firefox on a mac):

Just click the link that says “Add this to your browser”

Say OK to add it to the list of engines:

And you are all set to search…

Freeshippingon.com has the same functionality to search for eBay items with free shipping and a list of free shipping coupons for 500 more stores! The site is very easy to use, even if the name is hard to remember.
